DALLAS The North Team leads the South Team 22.5 points to 13.5 points as play came to a close on Sunday at the 2015 Texas Shootout at Dallas National Golf Club.
The North Team, captained by Mike Peck of Irving, got off to a hot start in the morning Foursome matches by taking a swift lead over the South Team with a four-point lead of 11 to 7. Josh Irving of Dallas and Clay Hodge of Tyler was the marquee pairing of the first half of the day, sweeping Conroe’s Scott Loving and Houston’s Justin Kaplan and gaining all three of the available points for the match.
John Hunter of Houston and Taylor Dio of the Woodlands were the lone bright spot of the South Team during the alternate shot portion earning two and a half of the three available points over Fort Worth’s Will Osborne and Dallas’ Scott Abbott.
To no surprise, the North Team picked up right where they left off in the afternoon Four-Ball matches and again managed to out play the South Team 11.5 to 6.5 with three of their pairings taking all three points in their matches. This spectacular team play gave the North Team an exceptional nine-point lead over the South Team to head into the final day Singles Matches.
