DALLAS — Flodder Financial Shootout field is set to tackle Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club. The 90-player field is scheduled for 36 holes of stroke play competition on July 11-12.
The Flodder Financial Shootout will be the ninth event on the LJT schedule thus far in 2017 and the last event before the 91st Texas State Junior Championship, which returns to Horseshoe Bay Resort on July 24-28.
Kyle Flodder, a competitor in more than 30 Texas Golf Association tournaments, is the proud sponsor of this tournament. Flodder signed a letter of intent to play golf at the University of Tennessee, but then changed his mind to attend Texas Christian University. He would go on to get his MBA from Harvard Business School. He now works with his father, Steven, at the Flodder Financial Group.
The field will be split into three divisions, Boys 15-18, Girls 12-18, and Boys 14 & Under. Players in all three division will compete on the 18-hole layout, which was designed by Greg Norman and features sod-wall bunkers with white sand and sits among a multitude of hardwood trees, creeks, lakes and wetland terrain. This shot-makers course is a par 72 and stretches out to 7,200 yards.
The winner of the Flodder Financial Shootout Boys 15-18 Division will earn an exemption into the 91st Texas State Junior Championship, the George Hannon Junior Invitational, the Texas Cup Invitational and the 2018 Byron Nelson Junior Championship.
In the Girls 12-18 Division, the top three finishers will earn spots in the Texas Girls’ Invitational, while the winner becomes exempt into the George Hannon Junior Invitational. The champion of the Boys 14 & Under Division will also earn an exemption into the George Hannon Junior Invitational.
Top finishers in the boys 15-18 Division and the Girls 12-18 Division will receive AJGA Performance stars. The top half of each division will earn points towards the Legends Junior Tour’s Player of the Year Standings.
