DALLAS – The Flodder Financial Shootout moves to The Club at Falcon Point in Katy, Texas as the 84-player field will compete for stars, exemptions and belt buckles.

Kyle Flodder, a competitor in more than 30 Texas Golf Association tournaments, is the proud sponsor of the tournament. He played golf collegiately at Texas Christian University and would go on to get his MBA from Harvard Business School. Kyle now works with his father, Steve, at the Flodder Financial Group.

"These tournaments bring back great memories for Steve and I of our many years of golf tournaments together," said Kyle about sponsoring an LJT event.

The Flodder Financial Shootout is split into three divisions, Boys 15-18, Boys 14 & Under and a Girls 12-18 Division. Top finishers in each division will earn AJGA Performance Stars along with exemptions into LJT Invitational events and each division winner will receive a custom-made Flodder Financial Shootout belt buckle.

League City’s Andre Jacobs won the Boys 15-18 Division in 2017, posting consecutive rounds of 4-under 68 to get to 8-under 136 overall at Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club. Jacobs made 10 birdies in two rounds with only two bogeys last year.

Treed Huang of Katy won the Boys 14 & Under Division by one stroke over Carson Ezell of The Woodlands. Huang shot 2-under 70 in the first round and 2-over 74 in the second round to get to even-par overall.

Magnolia’s Ava Schwienteck shot 2-under 70 in the final round to win the Girls 12-18 Division. Schwienteck edged out Christine Wang of Houston by two strokes for her first win with the Legends Junior Tour.

Jacobs, Huang and Schwienteck join a list of distinguished past champions at the Flodder Financial Shootout. Cole Hammer and Walker Lee have each won this event and both players have qualified and played in a U.S. Open Championship. Travis Vick, Ashni Dhruva, Macy Fox, Scott Roden and Garrett Martin are also past champions of this event.

The first round is scheduled for Monday, June 25 with tee times starting at 7:30 am off the No. 1 and 10 tees. The final round pairings will be redrawn according to score from the first round and will begin at 7:30 am on Tuesday, June 26.
