Dallas — Registration for the 93rd Texas Junior Amateur has opened and players in the state of Texas are encouraged to sign up for the state's biggest championship of the year!
The Texas Junior Amateur will head to The Clubs of Kingwood on July 22-24 with the Boys Division competing on the Forest Course and the Girls Division as well as the Boys and Girls 14 & Under Divisions competing on the Island Course. The total field size is 240 players with 120 players competing in the Boys Division, 60 players completing in the Girls Division and 60 players in the Boys and Girls 14 & Under Divisions. Both the Boys and Girls Divisions will compete over 54 holes of stroke play, while the 14 & Under Divisions will compete over 36 holes of stroke play.
Any full-time resident of Texas ages 12-19 is eligible to play in the Texas Junior Amateur. Players in the Boys Division will need to earn an exemption or qualify for the tournament through a qualifying site. When signing up for the Boys Division, you will need to sign up for the Texas Junior Amateur and be added to the pending list. If you are an exempt player, then you will be added to the field. If you are not an exempt player, then you will need to sign up for a qualifying site as well as sign up for the Texas Junior Amateur. To sign up for the Texas Junior Amateur, click here.
Players wishing to compete in the Girls Division as well as both 14 & Under Divisions, will sign up for the event and be added based on the LJT Priority Entry System. You can see all the steps for earning status in the field by clicking here.
