The TGA Fall Series was established in part to help fill the void left in many college-aged golfers’ schedules, which have been drastically altered because of ongoing COVID-19 concerns. With the majority of fall golf schedules canceled around the country, the TGA Fall Series will provide opportunities for collegians, as well as other amateurs, to play in competitive events during the hiatus.
The format for all the new Fall Series events will be 54 holes of individual stroke play. The fields will be comprised of 88 total players, including 60 men and 28 women. Although the events are open to all golfers that fit the eligibility criteria, two-thirds of each gender division will be reserved for college-aged golfers.
The men will play from approximately 6,800-7,000 yards. The women will play from 6,000-6,200 yards.
The TGA Fall Series will take place from mid-October to mid-November, with only one event taking place per week. Each event will be during the week.
To be eligible for the TGA Fall Series events, golfers must be members of a TGA Member Club with an established active WHS Handicap Index. The men must have an established WHS Index of 6.4 or lower to register. Women must have an established WHS Index of 12.4 or lower.
The cost for each event will be $175, which includes all course fees, practice facility access and cart fee. Competitors will be responsible for making and paying for their own practice rounds. There will not be an official practice round date.
